The next phase of development at McMaster Innovation Park in Hamilton, Ontario will establish an advanced centre for innovation at the crossroads of life sciences, medicine and engineering. The Fraunhofer Project Centre for Biomedical Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing (BEAM) at McMaster University will develop novel cell manufacturing systems related to cell therapy and immunology.
Diamond Schmitt Architects will renovate and fit-out 20,000-square-feet within an existing warehouse building to accommodate office, research and manufacturing facilities. An additional 20,000-square-feet on the second floor will be prepared for future laboratory and office use. The project is a partnership between McMaster University and Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI of Germany.
