Leonardo de Melo
Leonardo de Melo has a Bachelor of Technology in Architectural Science from Ryerson University and a Master in Architecture with distinction from Lawrence Technological University in Michigan. Since joining Diamond Schmitt Architects in 2002, his work on institutional projects includes programming and schematic design, construction documents and contract administration. He was made an Associate in 2014.
Mr. de Melo oversaw many facets of numerous buildings at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) campus. As Team Architect, he also completed the Automotive Centre for Excellence at UOIT, which houses a dynamic range climactic wind tunnel.
Other projects include the Milestone Corporate Centre, a four-phase, 40-acre, state-of-the-art office campus in the City of Vaughan. He is currently working on the 200-million Medicine Hat Regional Hospital redevelopment project, with a focus on programming and planning of the ambulatory clinics, surgical services, maternal/child departments and expansion of the Emergency facilities.
