Dale McDowell joined Diamond Schmitt Architects in 1999 and became an Associate with the firm in 2014. Throughout her career, she has engaged in all aspects of design and development work including assessment of programming needs and schematic design for new build, mixed-use, and renovation work.
As Project Architect, Ms. McDowell coordinated and completed the award-winning Salvation Army Harbour Light. The seven-storey building houses a community church, transitional housing and community and family services. She worked on the Bahen Centre for Information Technology at the University of Toronto, a large and complex facility situated on a tight site that integrates two historic buildings.
Other major assignments include the development of the interior public spaces and consultant coordination for Bridgepoint Active Healthcare and consultant coordination for the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute at St. Michael’s Hospital, both in Toronto.
She is currently Project Architect for The Globe and Mail Centre and HNR Dundas Square Residences in downtown Toronto.
