Jessica Shifman joined Diamond Schmitt Architects in 2002 and was made an Associate in 2014. She has worked predominately on auditoria and performing arts projects. She was involved in all phases of design, presentation and construction drawings for the 2,000-seat Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, with a focus on back of house details, public spaces and reception areas.
For the 600-seat Richmond Hill Performing Arts Centre, she worked on the curved glass facade of the building envelope and exterior detailing including the public plaza. On La Maison Symphonique, the new home of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, she continued detailing the auditorium and coordinated the consultant team during construction. She was job captain for the 500-seat Dunfield Theatre in Cambridge, Ontario and has also worked on the feasibility study for renovations of Trinity St. Paul’s Church, home to the Taffelmusik group in Toronto and the conceptual design for the Los Alamos Performing Arts Center in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
