Architect (Healthcare Specialist)

The ideal candidate will have at least eight years of well-rounded architectural experience with a demonstrated passion for excellence in healthcare design.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a busy office are key attributes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of outstanding healthcare designs
  • Ability to meet with clients and user groups to facilitate the design process
  • Ability to work independently and provide mentorship to junior staff.
  • Coordination of internal team, consultants and specification writer during design and documentation
  • Preparation of drawings in a REVIT environment


Qualifications:

  • More than eight years of experience in an environment of design excellence
  • Masters level degree in Architecture
  • Evidence of continuing education in the field of healthcare design
  • EDAC (Evidence Based Design Accreditation) Sigma Six or LEAN training is an advantage
  • Experience with dRofus or similar data management programs is an advantage
  • Experience in a P3 environment is an advantage
  • Eligibility for Membership in the OAA
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Advanced knowledge of current versions of REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Contract Administration experience is considered an asset

Contract Administrator

We are seeking a Contract Administrator who will contribute their outstanding skills to the planning, design and furnishing of a wide variety of projects. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of architecture and a passion for design innovation and excellence. They will work closely with principals, associates and architects in a collaborative studio environment to contribute design ideas and provide direction to project teams.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide construction administration functions to projects, including both office functions (certificates of payments, preparation of CO’s PC’s, CD’s etc.) and field functions (attendance at site meetings, preparation of site instructions, field review reports, etc.)
  • Organize, direct and manage contract administration for projects
  • Implement the project as directed by, or in consultation with the project team
  • Supervise the work effort on assigned projects
  • Work in a collaborative team environment, primarily in construction administration with involvement as required in other aspects of design including pre tender document review
  • Report to the project architect on a regular basis outlining status of job cost control and scheduling issues including general progress and time management issues
  • Knowledge of Revit and Autocad an asset
  • 10+ years experience required

DSAI is seeking a Design Technologies Coordinator to join our Vancouver office to help shape the way we design excellence. The Design Technologies Coordinator will work in collaboration with our Design Technologies Manager and BIM committee to help us improve our project workflows, use of software and library content. We are seeking a Design Technologies Coordinator who can work independently and communicate clearly with project teams.  A good understanding of construction means and methods is essential for developing consistent and thorough content libraries.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist staff with periodic Revit training, daily problem solving
  • Assist in refining skills and project workflows
  • Develop office content (family) library
  • Refine DSAI’s current Revit template to improve project efficiency
  • Assist in pre-screening software and plugins for yearly upgrades
  • Develop video and written tutorials for office intranet
  • Explore BIM visual programming platform such as Dynamo and Grasshopper
  • Assist in project upgrading process

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 year College diploma or University degree from a recognized architectural program
  • 3 years progressive work experience in an architectural office
  • Excellent working knowledge of REVIT and REVIT families
  • Ability to read specifications and 2D drawings
  • Understanding of common building components and how they are assembled to form a completed building
  • Multitasking,  project management and leadership skills
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Comfortable communicating in working groups of various sizes
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Programming background is a benefit but not a requirement

Intermediate Architect

We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic design focused individuals with a minimum of 5 years architectural experience to join our Vancouver office. The ideal candidates will have well-rounded architectural experience and a demonstrated passion for excellence in design.  They should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, very good organizational skills, and be able to multi-task in a busy office.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architectural design, detailing and documentation on projects in collaboration with the project architects and team members
  • Developing and coordinating construction documentation on projects
  • Preparation of 2D, 3D and CAD drawings
  • Working experience with Revit is an asset

 

Qualifications 

  • Demonstrated pursuit of excellence in design
  • Bachelor of Architecture Degree
  • Revit trained and work experience an asset
  • Must also have working knowledge of current versions of AutoCAD.  Experience in modeling software such as Rhino, Sketchup, 3D Max and CS Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) would be considered an asset
  • Experience preparing design and construction documents for institutional and residential projects.  Contract Administration experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Senior IT Service Desk Analyst

We are seeking a Senior IT Service Desk Analyst to join our newly centralized IT Service Desk in our Toronto office. Reporting to the IT Manager, the Senior IT Service Desk Analyst will be primarily responsible for managing the resolution of systems issues and requests; including logging all incidents, resolution of incidents, processing requests, assigning incidents and requests to other resources as appropriate as well as tracking and monitoring all issues to ensure timely resolution. The ideal candidate will provide remarkable technical support as experience will be the expectation in this role. The position requires a person who has the ability to work a flexible schedule between the hours of 8 AM to 7 PM.  Occasional after-hours support will also be required. Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to, analyze, investigate, problem solve and resolve users’ incidents/tasks in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Junior Service Desk Analyst to monitor IT support ticket queues, ensuring that all inquiries are responded to in a timely manner
  • Assign the proper categories, SLA, priority and applicable labels to each ticket service request
  • Maintain IT inventory by recording information on IT Asset system
  • Maintain ownership of IT tickets until they are closed and update status
  • Prioritize requests and follow-up on resolution and update tickets/staff
  • Maintain Tier 1 related documentation and knowledgebase
  • Maintain a high level of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles
  • Configure, deploy & support PCs / Laptops /Smart Phones and other equipment
  • Update technical and functional skills as new technology is introduced
  • Maintain and support printers and other network peripherals
  • Track all issues and present reports to IT Manager outlining issues, escalations and projects
  • Coordinate testing, preparation and deployment of new software, enhancements and upgrades
  • Assist with hardware maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Knowledge required in terms of day to day Service Desk operations and IT service delivery
  • Experience with analysis of tickets and customer escalation
  • Perform routine administrative tasks on servers, printers, networking devices and end-user computing devices remotely and at customer locations
  • Foster an environment of innovation, continuous improvement and leadership

 

Requirements:

  • Technical diploma in IT or in a related field
  • 3-5 years of technical support experience, with strong analytical and technical skills
  • Experience working in AEC or a similar industry is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge in terms of day to day Service Desk functions and experience in analysis of tickets and escalation required
  • Mid-level computer and networking troubleshooting skills required
  • Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP, Citrix and DNS administration
  • Network connectivity experience and basic LAN Administration knowledge an asset
  • Microsoft Windows XP/7/8/10, Server 2008, Microsoft Outlook and the Office Suite, including Office365
  • Willingness to learn and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills
  • Well-developed time management skills (multi-tasking ability)
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently as necessary

Senior Network Administrator

We are seeking a Senior Network Administrator to join our IT department in our Toronto office.  Reporting to our IT Manager, the Senior Network Administrator will be passionate about ensuring and maintaining a stable network infrastructure. You will develop, administer and maintain the network infrastructure to support our business by ensuring security, integrity and high-availability of enterprise systems and related components. This position requires a person who has the ability to work a flexible schedule between the hours of 8 AM to 7 PM. Occasional after-hours support will also be required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage setup, configuration and operation of virtualization layer, hardware, firewall, proxy, load balancers, IDS and operating systems
  • Assist in handling service requests, changes and incidents including problem management
  • Provide daily operational maintenance of existing network infrastructure including Cisco, Fortigate, Motorola, Juniper and F5’s. Phone systems include Cisco / Avaya VOIP and Nortel Option 11
  • Provide setup and operation of hardware including HSM, servers, clusters and storage
  • Plan and execute changes and installations
  • Provide support for networked computers and equipment
  • Setup and management of operating systems
  • Establish VPN tunnels with other sites and customers
  • Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus and intrusion detection systems
  • Arrange and perform network software and hardware upgrades
  • Collaborate/communicate daily with IT staff members to ensure seamless IT operations
  • Assist Service Desk and IT projects as needed
  • Plan and execute changes in terms of software rollouts and hardware installations including testing, coordination, planning and issuing notifications regarding any changes
  • Collaborate with others to drive flexible and iterative solutions (quickly and easily)
  • Share technical knowledge with others and actively participate in continuing education
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, related documentation and technical specifications information
  • Identify improvements in terms of setup, capacity and expansion etc.
  • Perform health checks and maintenance of infrastructure
  • Available to be on-call for critical incident support on a rotational basis

 

Requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Sciences, IT or related technical/engineering field
  • 7-10 years of experience in network/system/infrastructure administration or a related field
  • 10 years of general IT experience
  • CCNA certification required, MCSE an asset
  • Very strong working technical knowledge of Workstation Server operating systems, current network hardware, protocols and standards
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multi-tiered distributed environments
  • Hands-on experience with server/network infrastructure, delivering internet facing applications and solutions
  • Experience maintaining systems in a Managed Configuration including a server baseline establishment, change tracking, server build reports, and other configuration management procedures
  • Exposure to cloud-based disaster recovery implementations
  • Management of iSCSI SAN environments (preferably Nimble)
  • Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, VDI and HCI)
  • Knowledge of complex software/infrastructure solutions
  • Experience in AEC industry is considered an asset
  • Solutions oriented mindset with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends to conduct maintenance and upgrades
  • Excellent team player
