Architect (Healthcare Specialist)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of outstanding healthcare designs
  • Ability to meet with clients and user groups to facilitate the design process
  • Ability to work independently and provide mentorship to junior staff.

Qualifications:

  • More than eight years of experience in an environment of design excellence
  • Masters level degree in Architecture
  • Evidence of continuing education in the field of healthcare design
  • EDAC (Evidence Based Design Accreditation) Sigma Six or LEAN training is an advantage
  • Experience with dRofus or similar data management programs is an advantage

Contract Administrator

We are seeking a Contract Administrator who will contribute their outstanding skills to the planning, design and furnishing of a wide variety of projects. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of architecture and a passion for design innovation and excellence. They will work closely with principals, associates and architects in a collaborative studio environment to contribute design ideas and provide direction to project teams.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide construction administration functions to projects, including both office functions (certificates of payments, preparation of CO’s PC’s, CD’s etc.) and field functions (attendance at site meetings, preparation of site instructions, field review reports, etc.)
  • Organize, direct and manage contract administration for projects
  • Implement the project as directed by, or in consultation with the project team
  • Supervise the work effort on assigned projects
  • Work in a collaborative team environment, primarily in construction administration with involvement as required in other aspects of design including pre tender document review
  • Report to the project architect on a regular basis outlining status of job cost control and scheduling issues including general progress and time management issues
  • Knowledge of Revit and Autocad an asset
  • 10+ years experience required

  • Exercise their expertise, strong knowledge of furniture materials and finishes.

  • NCIDQ qualifications, registered with ARIDO

  • Strong knowledge of federal, provincial and municipal building laws, building and safety codes, health and environmental standards and regulations for commercial interiors.
  • Strong conceptual design and presentation experience through the use of AutoCAD and Revit/or other 3D; or graphic design programs

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reception – Answering telephones, paging office, assists callers, greeting visitors, maintaining sign in sheet etc.
  • Keeping the kitchen stocked, clean and free of used dishes
  • Keeping print room stocked, clean and organized
  • Ensuring the espresso machine is functional, clean and stocked
  • Ensuring the kitchen is stocked with coffee, coffee accessories, condiments, as well as dining-ware (plates, bowls, cutlery, etc.)
  • Distributing incoming mail and sending out outgoing mail
  • Delivering courier packages and print jobs to employees in a timely manner
  • Setting up for meetings and keeping meeting rooms clean (cleaning tables and screens)
  • Setting up phone and voicemail for new hires as well as maintaining internal office phone directory
  • Setting up workstations for new hires including the installation of CPU, monitors and accessories

Experience and Skills

  • Proven excellence in interpersonal and communication skills both in person and over the telephone.
  • Previous experience as a receptionist or office clerk.
  • Minimum 2 years office experience an asset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Staffing / Resource Planning Coordinator

Responsibilities Include:

Daily/Weekly Planning

  • Participate in weekly staffing meetings with Project Architects to address immediate staffing needs and develop overall project staffing plans
  • Work with Project Architects to ensure appropriate staff assignments, develop contingency plans for departing/arriving staff; develop short term staffing solutions to cover vacation and absences
  • Update and maintain “Staff Availability” and “Staffing Requirement” databases to ensure accurate, current data is available to the Management Team
  • Review staff utilization and address immediate requirements for short term staffing reassignments to support project work
  • Maintain a data base of staff skills, professional development needs and requested assignments
  • Offer suggestions and a meaningful interpretation of data to frame Management decisions
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to improve staffing assignments and project efficiencies


Monthly Planning

  • Coordinate monthly meetings with individual Project Architects to review project budgets, schedules and staffing requirements
  • Support project and business decisions through the timely preparation of accurate staffing projections
  • Work with Project Architects to develop staffing plans for long term forecasting
  • Ensure requests for increases in staff are dealt with in a timely manner and with required lead time
  • Review project budgets and staffing requests and propose adjustments as required
  • Maintain comprehensive staffing documents to communicate to senior leadership for purposes of budgeting, space utilization and capacity planning
  • Be able to articulate reasons for forecast variances and propose changes to enhance forecast accuracy and effectiveness


Accounting Crossover

  • Work with Project Architects and Accounting Team to Develop and maintain Project Management Plans as required
  • Update and Communicate changes in project budgets, schedules and scope.to Accounting Team

Required Experience and Skills

  • 4+ years of analytics and reporting experience
  • Experience with workforce management including real-time analysis, scheduling, staffing optimization is considered a strong asset
  • Experience in a creative industry is a strong asset
  • Strong analytic skills and demonstrated problem solving abilities
  • Advanced MS Excel required; including ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets with advanced formula application
  • Proven verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management
  • Independent self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities and demands
