10 Bay – McMaster Graduate Residence is among the finalists for a 2024 ARIDO - Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario Award, in the LIVE TOGETHER category.

Responding to ever growing demands for quality student housing, 10 Bay fosters a thriving community in the heart of Hamilton’s evolving downtown core. Reflecting the university’s commitment to creating a vibrant campus, the new residence promotes academic excellence and supports the health and well-being of student life.

Rising at the corner of Bay Street and King Street, the 30-storey building is home to over 644 graduate students and their families. The design transforms student housing by recognizing the pivotal role of amenities for community engagement, and the impact of purposefully designed units. Multiple shared spaces nurture a balance between learning and connection, while carefully detailed, light-filled and inviting living areas support a range of accommodations and accessibility needs.

The ARIDO Awards are among the most prestigious honours in the interior design community. These awards celebrate projects that demonstrate excellence in thoughtful planning, from initial concept to the final details that define a space. The awards also recognize projects that embody principles of equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion, reflecting the core values of contemporary design.

Winners will be announced at the 2024 ARIDO Awards Gala on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, bringing together over 700 of Ontario's leading Interior Designers, Suppliers, Architects, and members of the media.
