The UN Global Compact Network Canada has announced its 2025–2026 Board of Directors, which includes the appointment of Lisa Prime, Director of Sustainability at Diamond Schmitt.
Lisa joins a diverse and experienced group of business leaders from across the country who will provide strategic guidance and collaborative leadership to accelerate private sector action on sustainability and responsible business practices in Canada.
With 30 years of experience in community planning, progressive green building design, and performance-based urban sustainability solutions, Lisa brings deep expertise to the Board. Her work includes developing sustainable strategies and climate policies for municipalities across the Greater Toronto Area and the Winnipeg Region.
The announcement of the new Board was made during the organization’s Annual General Meeting. At the event, Executive Director Elizabeth Dove shared insights from conversations with more than 80 business leaders across Canada. These discussions emphasized the importance of upholding values in the face of regulatory shifts, mis- and disinformation, and global volatility.
“In uncertain times, Canadians need the certainty of Canadian companies on responsible business practices more than ever,” said Dove. “Our 2025–2026 Board brings the clarity, courage, and commitment needed to uphold the Ten Principles and lead progress on climate, inclusion, and responsible governance. Together, we are building a network of companies that not only adapt to change—but shape it.”
The UN Global Compact Network Canada is part of the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, dedicated to advancing the Ten Principles in human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption along with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Canadian Network brings together over 200 companies, both large and small, from various sectors, all committed to integrating sustainable and ethical practices into their core strategies.
