New Fancsy Family Hospital breaks ground in Windsor-Essex

Construction has begun on the Fancsy Family Hospital, a two million sf facility that will bring comprehensive acute care services closer to home for the growing Windsor-Essex population. It is the largest healthcare investment in the region’s history.
Diamond Schmitt is leading the planning and design of the project's first phase, with EllisDon serving as construction manager.
This phase includes a three-storey, 125,000 sf Education and Administrative Centre with a simulation centre, parking garage, and supporting site infrastructure.
Located adjacent to the main hospital, the Centre is designed to be easily accessible for support teams and visitors, offering a dedicated space for learning, training, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, while integrating seamlessly with the main hospital building.
Completing the Education and Administration Centre in Phase 1 will allow some administrative staff, including the Redevelopment team overseeing the project, to work on-site while construction continues on future phases. It will also provide training space to support operational readiness at the new hospital.
