Beatriz brings over twenty years of architectural practice across cities around the world, including extensive experience in the UK and North America. Her work spans a broad variety of building types, including educational, cultural, recreational, leisure, residential, industrial, office, and healthcare facilities.

She is passionate about leveraging sustainable and wellness design solutions in every project type, with a focus on enhancing the daily lives of building users and strengthening connections to the surrounding community through thoughtful space layouts and careful attention to detail. Throughout the design and documentation process, Beatriz prioritizes strong collaboration with clients, users, the interdisciplinary design team, and other partners, as well as thoughtful integration between each project and its surrounding community.

Since joining Diamond Schmitt, Beatriz's project experience has included the York University Markham Campus, the McMaster Living and Learning Centre in Hamilton, LiUNA Local 183 headquarters in Vaughan, and the NRC Mississauga Labs. Most recently, her work has focused on the University of Virginia and Old Dominion University in the United States, the Uxbridge Hospital, and the Guelph Central Library.

An enthusiastic mentor, Beatriz supports team development, knowledge sharing, and a collaborative studio culture, and continues to explore emerging technologies, digital design tools, and best practices to deliver innovative architectural solutions.

Beatriz is a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council since 2004, and a WELL Accredited Professional since 2021. She is also a Registered Architect in Venezuela, with the Colegio de Arquitectos de Venezuela and the Colegio de Ingenieros de Venezuela. 

She holds a Master of Architecture from Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, a DEA-CEAA in Aesthetics and Art Sciences from Sorbonne Paris IV and Mastère Spécialisé "Étude et Création de Mobilier" (Design and Creation of Furniture) at ENSCI les Ateliers and the École d'Architecture de Paris-Villemin.
