In[Sites] EP2: Transforming education through design

The way students experience their learning environments has never been more important. As a result, the design of academic spaces has evolved beyond simply addressing practical requirements to creating environments that inspire, support, and adapt to the diverse ways people learn, interact, and connect.

At Diamond Schmitt, this is the lens through which we approach our academic buildings. In the latest episode of In[Sites], Principals Mike Szabo and Iva Radikova discuss how design choices are made—considering everything from clear sightlines, natural light, and warm materials to flexible classrooms, ergonomic furniture, and welcoming common areas—and emphasize that design considerations for spaces outside of the classroom are equally important.

By placing the student experience front and centre, we design learning environments that foster collaboration, reflection, and meaningful connection, empowering students in their educational transformation.

In[Sites] is a video series that focuses on the people leading design excellence at Diamond Schmitt.
