TORONTO, ON – Diamond Schmitt has reaffirmed its status in Canada’s Greenest Employers program for the ninth year in a row. Selected by Mediacorp Canada Inc., Canada’s Greenest Employers are recognized for their emphasis on sustainable operations, and for developing practical environmental programs and initiatives that engage employees to create positive environmental change.

“The common thread that runs through this year’s winners is that they listen to the employees who care most about implementing green initiatives and encourage them to lead the conversation,” says Chantel Watkins, assistant editor at Mediacorp. “By giving a voice to local champions, the staff members who are most passionate about the environment get the ball rolling on workplace initiatives that can make a significant difference.”

•  Diamond Schmitt is a leading advocate for the use of living walls and wood timber in major construction projects, highlighting the advantages of natural materials and the beneficial effects on individual health and well-being on indoor environments
  
• In addition to numerous completed LEED projects, Diamond Schmitt's building portfolio includes six Net Zero certified projects with an additional seven projects underway as well as one completed Net Zero Ready project
  
• Diamond Schmitt encourages employees to leave the car at home with onsite shower facilities and indoor bicycle storage to accommodate over 60 bikes
