Technical Director Rod Maas has been named a Fellow of the RAIC by The College of Fellows of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC). Fellowships are bestowed upon individuals through a nomination process in recognition of members for their contribution to research, scholarship, public service, and professional standing to the good of architecture in Canada. Rod has been recognized for his distinguished contribution through excellence in architectural design, design management and innovation, and his exceptional professional achievements.

Rod has over 35 years of experience in project delivery. Over the course of his career he has expertly led the design and construction of numerous large-scale institutional, commercial, and residential projects. 

Rod is an exceptional leader, bringing an unmatched level of technical expertise to every project he works on. He is deeply committed to ensuring that each project’s design vision is realized without compromise, and he diligently oversees rigorous execution from inception to completion. His skill in fostering meticulous documentation practices and conducting disciplined site reviews has been instrumental in the successful delivery of countless projects.

A dedicated mentor and teacher, Rod has devoted his career to developing future professionals, significantly impacting the architectural community. His leadership style is both enthusiastic and inspiring, motivating teams to fully engage in the pursuit of excellence and to master the complex processes required for competent architectural practice. 

Currently, Rod is leading major projects across British Columbia and Alberta, including the Cameron Community Centre in Burnaby, TELUS Ocean in Victoria, the Marpole Community Centre, the Oakridge Redevelopment Project, and the St. Paul's Clinical Research and Support Centre in Vancouver. 

Rod will be officially inducted to the RAIC College on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at a convocation ceremony during the RAIC Conference in Montreal, QC.
