Houng Te is a licensed architect with extensive experience across all phases of design and construction. Since joining Diamond Schmitt in 2014, she has contributed to a wide range of academic, residential, cultural, and healthcare projects, consistently bringing a refined eye for detail. She was responsible for the envelope detailing for the 2Fifteen and VMC East Block residential developments, and the interiors for Holy Blossom Temple. With a passion for tackling intricate building envelope junctions, combined with her strong foundation in interiors, she critically prioritizes the relation between inside and out.
Her technical acumen and exceptional project management are evident through her leadership on large-scale, highly complex projects that she carries from design through construction. She is currently overseeing two major projects: McMaster University Lincoln Alexander Hall, a 500,000sf undergraduate residence targeting LEED Gold; and Pickering College West Lake House, a private junior school project rooted in Quaker values and featuring exposed wood structure.
Known for fostering strong collaboration across teams and consultants, Houng brings clarity, purpose, and problem-solving rigour to every phase of a project—never hesitating to ask the tough questions that drive the work forward.
She holds both a Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Master of Architecture from Carleton University, including an exchange at the University of South Australia. She is registered with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA).
