Duncan received his Bachelor of Architectural Studies with Honours Standing from the University of Waterloo in 2005 and worked with architectural practices in London, England as well as a prominent design agency in Toronto prior to joining Diamond Schmitt Architects, becoming an Associate in 2018.
Duncan has a broad range of design experience and has made significant contributions as a design leader on a number of projects including the envelope of the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning, and a 250,000sf mixed-use building currently under construction at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre featuring a YMCA and Class ‘A’ office space for PwC. As the design and project lead for the Waterworks mixed-use building, Duncan is currently overseeing the preliminary phases of construction for an exciting heritage re-use project that will incorporate a YMCA, considerable European influenced retail spaces and 290 residential units in downtown Toronto.
Duncan is currently sitting on a Region of Waterloo Design Review Panel and has previously participated as a jury member in the selection of public art for the City of Guelph in addition to being a guest critic at a number of post-secondary design institutions.
