Gary Watson

BIOGRAPHY

Mr. Watson completed his Bachelor of Technology in Architecture at Ryerson University in Toronto. He received his Bachelor of Environmental Design and his Master in Architecture degrees at Dalhousie University in Halifax.

Since joining Diamond Schmitt in 2002, Gary has worked on a number of different projects from large-scale academic buildings to condominiums to athletic facilities. He was appointed as an Associate with the firm in 2012.

Mr. Watson’s project experience includes the design development and construction documents for the laboratory and building envelope design for the LEED Gold Certified Life Sciences Centre at the University of British Columbia; the preliminary concept design for the laboratories, vivarium and building enclosure for the recently completed Li Ka Shing Institute of Knowledge at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto; the North Vancouver Library and Block 62 Redevelopment project in British Columbia; the Chu International Student Centre at Western University; and initial schematic design, design development and construction documents for a new Athletic Complex for the Country Day School in King City.

Modelled in BIM, Mr. Watson recently worked on the award-winning E-Learning Centre and Harris Library in North Bay at Nippissing University/Canadore College. He is currently working on the new $103M Global Innovation Exchange Building at Wilfrid Laurier University.
