Tristan Crawford
Tristan studied Architectural History at Carleton University and obtained his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Toronto. Tristan brings to Diamond Schmitt a passion for transforming complex design briefs into sustainable, user-focused architecture.
Since joining the firm in 2018, he has contributed to high-impact projects across a diverse range of sectors, including multi-unit residential, community centres, and civic infrastructure. Recently Tristan has led the design of Emergency Services facilities for the City of Toronto, Region of Peel, and Halton Region.
Tristan’s approach emphasizes design excellence, sustainability, and innovation, and is rooted in a deep commitment to users and stakeholders. He works closely with client teams to build a shared vision for project success, and values clear and consistent communication throughout the path the achieving that vision. He works holistically and collaboratively across disciplines, embedding the expertise of broadly skilled teams in the DNA of high-performance, user-focused buildings.
As a member of Diamond Schmitt’s sustainability committee, Tristan has developed initiatives to promote a broad understanding of the fundamentals of high-performance, low-carbon, and low-energy design within the office and beyond. A skilled communicator, Tristan is focused on demystifying sustainability and demonstrating its alignment with client goals and budgets.
