The Canadian Natural Resources Limited Engineering Complex redevelopment and expansion creates a new focus and crossroads for the sprawling complex. The introduction of a central atrium encourages social and academic interaction in a light-filled space.

The 197,000-square-foot infill core is configured to optimize the existing space with a new logic and create flexibility to accommodate the changing needs of each department and their curriculum.

Elegant architecturally exposed structural steel and other servicing elements are on view and celebrated as central elements of the building aesthetic and create a didactic learning tool for students.

Seven new and refurbished lecture theatres ranging in size from 90 to 240 seats have been designed. These spaces range from conventional lecture theatres to a multipurpose auditorium that can be transformed into an exam hall, exhibition space or dining venue.
