Director of Visualization

Christiano Mahler is a 3D visualization specialist with over 20 years of experience in architectural rendering, animation, virtual reality, and augmented reality. His work brings unbuilt projects to life with photorealistic detail, helping clients fully experience design intent long before construction begins.

Since joining Diamond Schmitt in 2017, he has produced compelling visuals for a wide range of mixed-use and institutional projects, including a mass timber office complex in Arkansas, SmartCentres Place in Toronto, Milestone Corporate Centre, and the Passive House Pilot Project at Alexandra Park.

A key project is TELUS Ocean, a 158,000 sq. ft. office building in Victoria, BC, targeting LEED Platinum, Net Carbon, and WELL standards. Christiano’s renderings and 3D animations highlight the project’s sustainability features, ensuring that the design istranslated into clear and engaging visual narratives.

Christiano also leads visualization for Ādisōke, a joint facility for the Ottawa Public Library and Library and Archives Canada. The project demonstrates leadership in sustainability by integrating green features such as enhanced insulation, triple-glazed windows, rooftoppanels and BIPV.

His portfolio includes the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre master plan, renderings of various configurations for the reimagined David Geffen Hall in New York, and work on Block 10 of the Zibi redevelopment in Ottawa and Gatineau.

He holds a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from Pontifícia Universidade, a Master of Digital Arts from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and an MBA in BIM Processes from Universidade Cidade de São Paulo – and is a two-time recipient of the American Society of Architectural Illustrators’ Rendering Award of Excellence.
