Jose Trinidad
Jose Trinidad holds a Bachelor of Design in Environmental Design from OCAD University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Calgary. Since joining Diamond Schmitt in 2014, he has worked across diverse typologies, contributing to projects such as Buddy Holly Hall in Lubbock, Waterfront Innovation Centre, York University’s Markham Campus, Therme, and David Geffen Hall in New York.
Currently, Jose’s portfolio includes the University of Virginia Center for the Arts, Carleton University Student Residence, Collingwood PAC, and Ādisōke.
His interest in exploring various design methodologies alongside his enthusiasm forvisualization, 3D modeling, computational design, and fabrication, has made Jose an instrumental member in many projects—most notably on international competitions in joint venture with renowned firms such as, Heatherwick Studio on David Geffen Hall, MVRDV on Den Bosch Theater, Bjarke Ingles Group on Block 2 redevelopment, ALA on London Symphony Orchestra, and Seldorff Architects on UVA Center for the Arts.
Within Diamond Schmitt, he is actively involved in advancing design innovation as a member of several internal groups: the Computational Design Committee, Digital Practice Committee, Rapid Design Iteration Group, and Digital Hallway.
He is also an acclaimed architectural illustrator, having earned the Hugh Ferriss Memorial Prize from the American Society of Architectural Illustrators in 2022, as well as multiple Awards of Excellence in Rendering from 2015 to 2017 and again in 2021.
